DAY 14 - 1/24/26

Updating My Identity in Christ

Acts 19:2 (NIV):
“Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

Imagine your phone: recently, a major company released a forced update. Why? Hackers were lurking, stealing data and damaging devices. Without that “update,” everything was at risk.

That’s how our spiritual life works. The world bombards us with viruses of sin evil, lies, bitterness that corrupt our original identity in God. Have you become stuck, living in “old mode”? It’s time to update yourself in Christ, to be secure and filled with power.

The apostle Paul saw this clearly in Acts 19:2. Like Apollos an eloquent and bold speaker they knew about John’s baptism, basic repentance, but they lacked fullness. Apollos had enormous potential but had remained at the ABCs of the Gospel. Paul told them, “There is more.” And today, God is telling you the same: there is more of His Spirit, more power to love, to heal, and to overcome.

In Psalm 51:10 (NASB), after his fall, David cries out:
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
David recognized, “I need help in my heart, in my spirit divine intervention.” That’s us. Ephesians 4:23 urges us: “Be renewed in the spirit of your mind.” Stop thinking about sin or revenge; focus on what is above. Update yourself by being generous Proverbs 11:25 promises, “A generous soul will prosper” with good works, encouraging words, shared joy, and sincere offerings. Be faithful, as 1 Corinthians 4:2 says: “It is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.”

In these last days wars, plagues, and perversion, as described in Matthew 24 the church is not looking for a social club or merely “nominal Christians.” It needs disciples who heal the sick, set captives free, and raise the dead, led by the Spirit. Have you received His extraordinary power? Do you speak in new tongues? Do you sense His anointing for miracles? Say with me: “There is more. I need an update.”

What “virus” is poisoning you today? Anger that manipulates relationships? Greed that poisons the soul? God wants to renew you so you can love your spouse with tenderness, obey as a child, and serve faithfully.

Prayer:
Lord, create in me a clean heart and renew my spirit. Update me with Your Holy Spirit; fill me with power to be generous and faithful. Let there be more of You in me for these times. Amen.

Action:
Today, pray asking for the baptism of the Holy Spirit if you have not received it. Then do a generous good work send an encouraging message or give an offering and notice how your mind is renewed. There is more, and it is for you!
